It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of putting together a room for your new baby. Everything is so adorable! If you have a new arrival on the way, designing the perfect nursery is likely one of your top priorities. Here’s how I created a special space for my client’s baby boy that will continue to work for him as he grows.

This new mom was going to be out of town and enlisted me to get the nursery ready for her little one while she was away. As a full service designer, this was right up my alley! Once we agreed on the plan, I took care of everything from ordering the items to coordinating delivery and setup.

The room was previously used as a home office/guest room. My client wanted to maintain the neutral colour scheme that was used throughout the rest of the apartment. Sticking to a neutral colour palette on the walls and large decor items makes it easy to simply change up accessories as your child grows.

It was very important to my client to invest in high quality pieces that she wouldn’t have to replace down the road. Through my exclusive LIVV Home Collection, I chose a convertible crib and dresser in a fun two-tone wood finish. Down the road, the change table top can be removed from the dresser and the crib can be transformed into a double bed.

Of course, no nursery is complete without a comfy chair. This beautiful glider adds a pop of colour along with providing the perfect spot for late night snuggles with baby. Later on, it’s versatile enough to be used in another room if it’s no longer needed in the nursery.

As any parent knows, babies may be small but they come with a lot of stuff! To provide plenty of storage, we chose a dresser with ample drawer space to keep all the essentials handy and organized. In addition, the ottoman has hidden storage inside for toys, books, or blankets.

I had so much fun making this nursery a cozy, comfortable, and functional space for my client to enjoy with her baby now and into the future.
